Mr. Stephen Cook – Director
Stephen Cook is a music educator and trumpet performer from Columbus, Mississippi, with six years of experience teaching and leading band programs across Alabama. He earned a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of North Alabama. Throughout his career, Stephen has focused on building positive, student-centered programs rooted in high expectations, strong relationships, and musical excellence. His recent teaching experience includes serving at Ardmore High School and previously directing successful band programs at Brooks High School and Ashford High School, where ensembles consistently earned Superior ratings and Best in Class honors in both marching and concert performance.
In addition to his work as an educator, Stephen maintains an active performance background in symphonic, jazz, brass, and marching ensembles. He was a member of Carolina Crown in both 2010 and 2012, experiences that deeply shaped his leadership philosophy and passion for music education. He has also performed with organizations including the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Shoals Symphony Orchestra.
