Directors
The East Limestone High School Band program is composed of more than 300 students ages 11 to 18 in three bands and 10 ensembles. These band students put in hundreds of practice hours and give more than 30 performances each year.

Mark McChristian, Director of Wind Ensemble, Middle School Band, Brass, Theory, Music Appreciation, Drill, and coffee
He is getting me a bio but until then,… Mr. Mark McChristian is beginning his second year here at East as our Co-Director. With the addition of Mr. McChristian we were able to finally divide the concert band and start an honest to goodness wind ensemble. Their inaugural performance was at MPA at James Clemens HS were they earned all superior ratings! Mrs. Sam was also able to lower her blood pressure meds and didn’t seem nearly as crazy as she usually does. He has made an impact on all of us here and we know next year will be even better! In real life, Mr. McChristian is father of two daughters (prayers appreciated). He is a graduate of Athens HS and the University of North Alabama. He is also older than me. |

Mrs. Michelle Priest, Director of all things Guard
She is getting me a bio but until then,…Mrs. Sonya Michelle McConnell Priest has been with the band for 110 years it seems. In her tenure as guard director the guard has flourished. From ratings to awards to new adventures in the Winter Guard circuit, Mrs. Priest has led these young people into success. In non-band life she has been teaching English at East LImestone since 2007. She was also the Middle School Cheer coach for several years. She is a graduate of Tanner HS and Athens State. She is Momma/Mom/Mother to 3 and more importantly grandmother/gram/nana/(?) to 5(?) beautiful grandchildren. She is older than me. |
